Buckwell Studio

BINTON, NEAR STRATFORD-UPON-AVON

When our clients approached us re Buckwell Studio it was in a sorry state.  Buckwell is a 200 year old period property and Neil & Kate initially wanted us to build a new extension to the side of the property.  This grew into a 12 month renovation project, with additional extensions, a new entranceway, along with exterior landscaping.  The house is now a home that works for modern family living.

We obviously did something right as we have been invited back to do a further extension to the left of the building incorporating a new office/gym during 2023! Pictures to follow!

The Initial Brief

To add a kitchen, utility and living space to a 19th century period house with thought to a palette of reclaimed bricks, aluminium windows, and sympathetic tiles all married within the historic street scene.

Buckwell's original layout was compromised and our clients wanted us to create a home with an improved kitchen flow along with spaces to work and gather.

Design

  • To design and execute a kitchen space for modern family living whilst honouring the fabric of the period house.

  • To provide consultancy for a live/work space for an holistic therapist.

  • To design spaces within the exterior space to complement the existing garden and provide landscape consultancy.

  • To provide overall design for the whole house with paint colours, surface finish, sanitaryware choices, tiles, lighting, floor finishes and overall guidance.
